Christoph M. Friedrich has been Professor of Biomedical Informatics at Dortmund University of Applied Sciences since 2010. He has more than 20 years of experience in industrial and academic development of machine learning methods. Since 2020 he additionally leads the Medical Informatics Group at the Institute for Medical Informatics, Biometry and Epidemiology (IMIBE) at the University Hospital Essen. From 2005 to 2010, he led the Datamining group at the Bioinformatics department of the Fraunhofer Institute for Algorithms and Scientific Computing (SCAI). In addition to machine learning, his research group focuses on medical statistics, image processing, and augmented/virtual reality.
