Felix Nensa is a professor for Radiology with a focus on AI at the Institute for Artificial Intelligence in Medicine and a senior consultant radiologist at the Institute for Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology and Neuroradiology. For several years, Felix has been leading a research group that develops machine learning-based solutions to medical imaging problems. Over 10 years ago, he founded the Smart Hospital Information Platform (SHIP) and continues to lead its ongoing development. His focus is on practical solutions that must work in a clinical context. In addition to workflow integration, his particular interests include interpretability, user trust, and interaction capabilities, especially with respect to modern, complex machine learning models. Felix is co-speaker and principal investigator for the research training group “WisPerMed” of the German Research Foundation, board member of the working group on information technology at the German Radiological Society, Editorial Board Member and Section Editor AI of the European Journal of Radiology, co-founder of the Emerging Technologies in Medicine (ETIM) congress, and member of the Associate Board of Editors for Investigative Radiology.
