Sven studied computer science and specialized in practical informatics at the University of Applied Sciences and Arts Dortmund, Germany. During his studies, he was employed at a local research and transfer institute where he worked on software extensions for robotic simulation in virtual production lines. Before joining the UME, he worked at the University of Applied Sciences and Arts Dortmund as a researcher and doctoral candidate. At the IKIM, he has the role of technical lead of the Data Integration and AI in Radiology research team. With his specialization in deep learning based semantic segmentation, Sven developed, among other things, a whole-body compatible body composition analysis pipeline to extract standardized diagnostic and prognostic biomarkers from routine CT imaging.
